Del libro: La falacia de la herramienta

Today, I had the opportunity to engage with a very skillful and knowledgeable group of executives from a major retailer in Mexico about artificial intelligence. As always, this experience was not only fulfilling but also humbling, allowing me to gain deeper insights into an industry that has much to teach us about human behavior and intelligence.

One of the discussions I particularly enjoyed was about how AI can genuinely benefit companies, rather than just being a buzzword to drive sales. We examined several AI-enhanced products, questioning whether they truly benefited from AI or if AI was merely a selling point. Some products seemed to perform the same tasks pre- and post-AI integration, leaving me asking how often this occurs across different industries.

While the tech sector is obviously buzzing with AI, other sectors are now experiencing this AI wave, from toothbrushes and dishwashers to toys, computers, and even AI-enabled pens. (The idea of an AI pen fascinates me, as the pen is one of the simplest tools to express organic intelligence think 2001 a space odysseyreference..)

I want to bring this to my LinkedIn readers: What AI-tagged products or technologies have recently caught your eye?

Why did they capture your attention?

Do you believe these products were truly enhanced by AI, or was AI just a marketing tool?

I’m looking forward to hear your thoughts and experiences
