I haven’t posted in a while, but after reading today’s article about OpenAI’s changes to DALL-E, I felt the need to share with my network that I believe creativity is about to be resurrected, and even faster than expected.
As many of you know, there’s an ongoing debate about whether AI models should credit the original author or even ask for their permission to learn their style and generate new content.
This not only highlights the obvious leap in generative AI technology (so fast that some people fear it will replace them), but it also questions whether creativity really exists.
Fortunately, it seems that some key players are giving creators the option to exclude their work from training datasets in order to avoid these issues.
Of course, this is not without consequence, as creators now need to consider sacrificing the reach of their work for exclusivity.
For now, I’m very happy to see changes that favor choice and privacy for creators, even if it means I have to work extra hard to define my own style of creativity.
What do you think?.
